Vintage Solian Ware Platter by Simpsons Potters England

A lovely vintage "Solian Ware" oval platter with central floral motif, gold "leaf" border and scalloped edging. Perfect for a spring afternoon tea setting!

Materials: Earthenware pottery

Measurements: 36cm long x 29cm wide x 3cm tall

Colour + Condition: Off-white to pale cream, with striking floral motif (featuring pinks, mauve, cornflower blue, green and yellows) and gold feature border. In excellent vintage condition with slight/age related crazing. No chips, cracks or nibbles. Maker's stamp to base.

Circa: 1940s - 1960s

History: Earthenware manufacturer at the Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent, England, from the 1940s to 1960s until they were taken over by a US-based firm in 1971.
